The Anthropology of Sport explores how sport shapes and is shaped by the social, cultural, political, and historical contexts in which we live. Anthropology and Sport: A Biocultural Perspective has a rich history. However, the subject was not formalized as a discipline until the Applied Anthropological approach was holistically expanded. Several other national and international societies related to advancing sports anthropology were established. The present Research panel attempts to discuss, share and explain the relationship between Anthropometry and Sports concern themselves with the relation of structure and function of the human body, society and culture, particularly within the context of changes and evolution. Sports anthropology has applications in a wide range of areas, including, for example, health development, biomechanics, ergonomics, growth and development, human sciences, medicine, nutrition, physical therapy, healthcare, physical education and sports science. In all cases, the emphasis was placed on the anthropological aspects of the topic. Hopefully, this panel will improve the understanding of anthropology, health, sports and the growth and development of society and culture in a relational comparative manner.
