Short Abstract

The aim of this study is to understand the nature of systemic and objective violence
and how it manifests in the everyday life of urban slums. This study will be conducted
using an ethnographic approach to examine the normalization of objective violence.
Data will be collected from children residing in urban slums located in South Delhi.
These children come from lower socio-economic strata of the society and face caste-based Discrimination. The disorderly nature of slums and the role of the state in that disorder is something that makes it the site of ethnographical exploration.
