Body fluids are extremely conclusive and remarkably valuable evidence in forensic cases. Body fluids and their mixtures are commonly encountered trace forensic evidence in sexual assault, murder, and paternity dispute cases. Samples retrieved from scene of crime for investigation may be exposed to a variety of conditions like exposure to high temperatures and dryings may further affect the DNA extraction and profiling thereof. DNA profiling is a comprehensive confirmatory test for the genetic identification of the donor(s) that addresses questions of interest related to the fields of criminal justice system. While extracting and generating DNA profiles from pure samples is easy, the present study aims to- 1. Extract and generate the DNA profile from highly dried pure body fluid samples of peripheral blood, menstrual blood and semen. 2. Estimating the number of contributors in mixed samples, and 3. Generation of separate DNA profiles from mixed samples of semen and menstrual blood.
