World Research Methods Community: Tackling Big Problems Across the Globe
Short Abstract
:
Tackling social problems across the globe requires teams of researchers with different sets of skills collecting and analyzing data. To address this, the U.S. National Science Foundation has funded the "Cultural Anthropology Methods Program (CAMP)" to provide the pedagogical materials (videos, readings, exercises) that colleagues around the world can access at no cost. The materials have been developed over the past three years and will be released on YouTube in 2024
Long Abstract
:

To respond to urgent societal needs, anthropologists need better training in research methods. To address this, the U.S. National Science Foundation has funded the "Cultural Anthropology Methods Program (CAMP)" to provide the pedagogical materials (videos, readings, exercises) that colleagues around the world can access at no cost. The materials for this curriculum (described below) were developed over the past three years by anthropologists at 35 U.S. universities and will be released on YouTube in 2024. Colleagues who are interested in teaching research methods are invited to join a growing World Community of Practice (https://methods4all.org/community-of-practice/) and contribute additional teaching materials
