The world has shut down. There is an air of stillness and humanity confronts an almost existential challenge of the Corona virus pandemic. In order to control the spread of the virus, strict lockdowns, quarantines and restrictions on movement was imposed by various countries which had devastating impact on the economy, social systems, health systems and individual lives. But the pandemic is affecting women more severely in psycho-social way from their health and income security, to additional caring responsibility and increased exposure to domestic violence. So, this review has been undertaken to comprehend psychosocial impact of Covid-19 on women.

Google Scholar is searched for the following keyword – Covid-19, Pandemic, Psychology, Sociology, Lockdown, Psychosocial, Psychiatry, Mental Health, Quarantine, Social Media and Internet, a few newspaper reports. Reports says thatPost-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop in long run and apart from this hoarding of things, anxiety, anxiety induced paranoia and depression, obsessive activities, etc are produced by COVID-19 itself and Lockdown. All these have been triggered by various means of social media. There are numerous increased cases of caste differentiation, negative attribution, phobias related to people of other places or countries or communities.

To deal with these burning issues of the psycho-social impact of COVID-19 and Lockdown on women, there is need of attention on inequalities and prevention model to be developed and implemented and a need of control some social media applications to cut down the filthy spread of negative impact of pandemic and setting up of mental organizations related to future pandemics are very much necessary.
