FOLK ART IN CLASSROOM

ABSTRACT
Folk arts are the symbol of tradition as well as culture. It is the most important factor that creates values among the person regarding his culture and tradition. The main purpose of providing education to the children is to make them able and capable to live in the society and they should have a contribution in the culture. It is important to teach folk arts in the classroom to boost up the students' self-confidence and self-esteem regarding their culture. All the state of India has their own culture and traditional identities which are reflected in the art produced by them. Folk art is a type of art that has a unique style and pattern of art in each region of India. In the folk arts, a variety of emotions and expressions are involved such as music, songs, stories, children's games, and rhythmic as well as occupational practices.
The purpose of the study is to justify the importance f folk art in classroom.
This study can provide essential information about importance of development of folk and art in classroom. With the help of this stud it is easy to collect information about various aspects of folk and art.
Folk art acts as a promising resource for the teachers to deliver to the students. Folk arts improved the writing and reading skills of the students by understanding the concept of literature. Conducting folk arts in the school has encouraged the interaction among the folk artists working in the school as well as the students through learning them arts and many more things related to folk arts. It is important to change the current education policies to implement folk arts in the classroom.
