Short Abstract
:
Religion is a belief in the power of the divine, and the supernatural and also incorporates an essence of spirituality. It gives people faith to hold onto that imparts meaning and purpose to their lives and helps them cope with adversities. It makes them morally sound. Though sometimes it can also be a source of conflict and division, Religion is inclined towards maintaining social solidarity and keeping people together.
Long Abstract
:

Religion is thus a fundamental aspect that comes to play a significant role in the everyday lives of people which becomes all the more crucial in times of crisis like the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to analyze the role of religion in people’s lives when they were in isolation during the pandemic, to analyze the modifications and adaptations in religious worshipping and rituals as a result of social restrictions during the pandemic, and to explore the role religion played in the spread of misinformation that impacted public health. The paper will explore how people’s religious beliefs and experiences have been affected during the pandemic. Mixed methods will be used in the study. Qualitative data will be collected through interviews. Questionnaires will be used to gather quantitative data of experiences and satisfaction levels of religiosity which will be analyzed using SPSS. Stratified Sampling Method will be used to categorize the sample into groups based on age and gender. A sample size of 50 will be taken for the study. The study will help understand the adaptability of religious institutions. It will explore the role of faith in times of crisis and will also help to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with a shift to virtual worship. The study will aid in better comprehending the transformations and experiences within religious communities during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study will also acknowledge the ongoing dialogue between religion and the broader context of public health and social change.
