Eco-cosmology is the deep knowledge and experience of the local people that reflects human perception, relationships, and adaptability to the immediate planetary environment. People in almost every society have their own conceptual understanding, cognitive categories, and indigenous knowledge about the universe. The purpose of this paper is to explore the eco cosmological knowledge of the Ho tribal people of Jharkhand, India. The Ho tribes of Jharkhand are the fourth most populated tribes after the Santhal, Oraon. The Ho is spread throughout the district, including West Singhbhum, East Singbhum, Chaibasa, and Saraikela Kharsawan. This is a field based study where fieldwork was carried out at Barnidya village, west of Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. The Ho tribe is famous for its proximity to the environment and resides primarily in the middle of the forest. And along with this, the Saranda Forest, the largest forest in Asia in this region, is spread out in this region of Jharkhand. Because of the abundance of trees, their existence revolves around them. They are more in touch with the environment as a result. People continue to live basic lives according to their experience and unwavering faith in these environments. The people discuss the meaning and knowledge in mythological stories, the understanding of the weather, the concept of time, indigenous meteorological knowledge, and so on, based on how people have seen their universe since ancient times. There are three mythological stories in the origin myth relating to land, plants, animals, and human beings that their Supreme Deity created. What are their beliefs about rain, the sun, the moon, stars, fire, thunder, cyclones, and so on in weather and meteorology? What are people's perspectives on time? The paper also investigates the source of cosmological knowledge among the younger generation with access to school education.
