Protests and Spatiality of Affectivity in Indian Political Discourse
Short Abstract
:
The present study attempts to explore the lens of emotionality in the expression and justified emotional surcharge in the means to reciprocate the right to exercise the immediate revocation against the anticommuntiarain and anti-unitarian ethos of the society as a functioning ’whole’.The divisive and polarising effects of the top-down structutration of power dynamics through the use of legislations and repressive tactics further the scope of emotional implications behind these motives.
Long Abstract
:

The main propose of this study stands for locating the sway of ‘emotions’ in the current political dispensation in India vis-à-vis the collective response of their actions and imaginaries they have devised. The study aims to draw the comparison variegations of events of 1.) Shaheen Bagh protest, 2.) Farmers protest. There is a growing discontent and threat of nationalism getting 'hardcore form' with radical elements trying to redefine the 'nationalism'. The ongoing political- witch-hunting and the mapping of one vote one nation which is complete assimilation of miniorities into a uniform state and has imposed dangerous and discriminatory policies the examples of which include the demolation of Babri Masjid ,National Register of Citizens (NRC) ,the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A of Indian constitution and the onging Farmer’s protest movement .This provides the background for the revisting theortical and analytical framework modeled by the robust review of hyphenating the ’grammar of emotions’ into the the new poltical idioms which has its roots embedded in hardcore socio-religious ideology.

The intentionality of capitalizing on both the accumulated and despairing set of collective emotions has widened the gaps and crevices in the manipulation and out-governing of the ‘people’ and then the consequent control. This study would try to add and enrich the theoretical and socio-political dimension of ‘politics of emotions’ in the political landscape of India having embedded geographic and temporal incongruities. This novel hybrid approach would further deconstruct the affectivity discourse by discovering the new fault lines and connections in the dynamic form of political ‘space’ in India
