I have taken Horizon's Franchise, videogame developed by Guerrilla Studios, to critically inquire about some questions about Aloy, i.e., Why do we need to understand Aloy's life in Horizon's Franchise? Why is it so essential to comprehend Aloy and her time? Why is it important to understand Aloy’s feelings? Why do we need to understand Aloy to understand us? First, I watched the whole franchise and used formal game analysis and digital ethnography to understand Aloy's character in a multidimensional way under struggle, suffering, responsibilities, and feelings. The game not only plots around the post-apocalyptic world as everyone sees it but also develops the character of Aloy with time. Aloy's virtues of endurance, perseverance, and care for the world are inherited from her Biological Mother, Elizabet Sobeck, who lived a thousand years ago. It also shows her struggle with society, her willingness to trust people and forge relationships , her understanding of friendship, and her approach to love and relationship. Through this work, I am trying to understand how Aloy carries the burden of being nobody to the savior of the world. At last, through this game, one can understand Aloy as a character represents the traversal of time (to understand herself and to save the world) which, when applied to the lives of players of the game, helps to understand struggles, anxieties, depression, and challenges of life.
