The relationship between illness and health is a common experience in tribal societies and each society has an ideological method of defining them. In the past few years, during the Corona epidemic, the indigenous medical system has shown that various forms and knowledge of ethno-medicine have proved to be a divine lifeline for the people of urban society. As far as tribal societies are concerned, they still have indigenous healer who, on the basis of their indigenous medical knowledge, treat various types of medical problems of their people such as female & male specific diseases, Chicken pox, Diarrhea, Colds and Flu, respiratory infections etc. Their indigenous knowledge plays an important role in local societies for stomach ailments and even some serious ailments. In the field of ethno medicine, many scholars of medical science have propounded their views and principles on the basis of their works. In this field, scholars of social sciences have also analyzed the practices and continuous experiments of indigenous healer in tribal societies on the basis of their special empirical knowledge. Anthropologists have explored the indigenous knowledge of tribal healers related to their socio-cultural values, religious beliefs and continuous practice etc. There are many such parts of the country where even today many indigenous healers are present in tribal societies and selflessly practicing their work, but they are ignorant of this traditional indigenous medical knowledge and practices. Especially this knowledge of his has hardly been recognized as his own knowledge. This article focuses on a specific region i.e. Gond tribe living in different villages of Myorpur block of Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh and their indigenous ethno-medical knowledge. This article will analyze the ethno medicine practice of the Gond tribal healer and their roles, as well as the medicines used for various diseases through different anthropological techniques.
