Abstract Title
:
The metaverse as a teaching experience with health students. The case of SENA Regional Valle - Colombia
Short Abstract
:
How have the experiences using augmented reality, mixed reality and robotics technologies been valued by the apprentices and instructors of a public institution, with a presence in Valle del Cauca - Colombia? The simulation applied to formal education in health programs allows the development of technical skills among students of technical and technological level. Teachers consider that these exercises contribute to patient safety, before facing real scenarios.
Long Abstract
:

The objective of this presentation is to socialize the teaching experience obtained by the instructors who belong to a SENA training center, using augmented reality, mixed reality and robotics technologies in the Valle - Colombia region. The background of this exercise dates back to 2013, when the institution motivated the incorporation of second life by improving the learning exercises.

Based on the development plan promoted by the institution, which is of a public nature, it was decided to use resources to incorporate industry 4.0 in the teaching-learning processes in the health programs attached to the center. This already had low, medium and high fidelity simulation equipment, but they wanted to propose a more realistic approach to the day-to-day life of health institutions, increasing their immersion.

One of the main results was that the emotional and technical component was combined in a recreated practice, because it was possible to provide elements of the real context in a controlled space. Twenty-five nursing students participated, transcending the conceptual stage and before the productive one. The perception of the teachers is that these exercises contribute to the safety of the patient, in moments that the apprentices face in real scenarios.

There are various solutions on the market that partially respond to these practice needs; however, experience promotes progress in the design of scenarios to the particular realities of the academic program and health systems of each country, to overcome barriers. cultural and contextual.
