In Mexico there is a great health problem, since it ranks first in obesity in Latin America and fifth in the world.
Sedentary eating is one of the main triggers of this big problem. The objective is to raise awareness about how the habits that are had on a daily basis affect the physical, mental and social health of the Mexican.
For an average person, it is more feasible to consume foods with low nutritional value, such as fast food, than to consume more balanced food with a healthier contribution. 70% of the Mexican population is overweight and 1/3 is obese, where unfortunately the most affected are 20-year-olds, of whom 36% are overweight.
Obesity is multifactorial and the things that influence its occurrence are several but few are known, which are 1. The environment, 2. Socioeconomics, 3. Genetics and 4. Psychological. It is alarming that the rates of overweight are so high because if there is no intervention, the next step will be obesity.
The consumption of fast food and poor quality food is something that is experienced daily in large and small cities, but neither are the towns exempt, because everywhere with urbanization and globalization, life is accelerated causing people to go for fast food options and do not create a space in their agenda to exercise and keep their body moving. In cities, life is more accelerated and of lower quality due to the environmental effects on the surroundings. There is very little awareness among parents on how to educate their children regarding sedentary life and nutrition.
