Abstract Title
:
A Comparative Study of Reincarnation of Life and Death in Ancient India and Allegory of the Cave in Ancient Greece ——From the Perspective of Interpretative Anthropology
Short Abstract
:
India and Greece are two ancient civilizations and famous for their philosophical thoughts. Among them, the Wheel of Life in ancient India and the Allegory of the Cave in ancient Greece are the most remarkable image metaphors in the two classical philosophies. To reveal the profound mysteries of the origin of life with simple symbols has a clear explanatory function for common people. In anthropological perspective, similarities lie in the spatial layout of two pictures and the unique interpretation of human commonality.
Long Abstract
:

Exploring cultural symbols and images from an anthropological perspective is an important way to explain society and politics. Comparative research is an important research tool in the theory and practice of visual anthropology, which sees similarities and differences through comparison and reveals deep meanings from appearances.

After comparative analysis of the " Allegory of the Cave " and the " Wheel of Life", the value of the two lies in revealing intangible and abstract "laws" through tangible "images", and the truth of living through visualized expressions and principles. Although the two metaphorical images originate from two completely different cultural backgrounds, the ways in which they express life philosophy are the same. The vivid interpretation of profound life philosophy in the form of patterns, in the sense of awakening, also has a high degree of similarity in the process of education and enlightenment from "biological beings" to "civilized people".

Human thoughts are diverse and complex, and it is not easy to transform complex thoughts into visual spatial fields with profound meanings and mysteries. The " Allegory of the Cave " and the " Wheel of Life" are representative symbolic cultural symbols. These two world-renowned metaphorical images are not just works of art with specific cultural representations, exquisite structures also lie in the profound philosophy of cosmos and life.
