Abstract Title
:
The Construction of Traditionally Ordered Spaces in Ancient Villages of South China under the Perspective of Multimodal Interaction
Short Abstract
:
This paper uses multimodal interaction analysis theory and grounding theory to refine theories from facts, and uses the materials from the author's fieldwork to argue and refine that the "traditionally ordered space" of ancient villages in South China is composed of physical spatial order, spiritual spatial order and cultural spatial order. It also explores how the constitutive modalities consisting of the physical symbol system and the social modalities formed by the cultural symbol system generate a multimodal interaction mechanism in the two-way construction and symbiosis of the meaning symbol level of "physical form + cultural cognition". Although the research strategy of this paper is based on the theoretical framework of multimodal interaction, the focus is not on the study of "modality", but on the elaboration of the argument that the "constitutive modal" physical morphological order of the architectural space and the "social modal" cultural cognitive order can be used in a multimodal way. The focus, however, is not on the study of "modality" but on the elaboration of the mechanism of interaction between the "constitutive modal" physical morphological order of architectural space and the "social modal" cultural cognitive order that generates traditional order spaces in villages.
