Critique of Anthropology Panel for Young Anthropologists

The Journal Critique of Anthropology announces a panel on ‘Anthropology of the Contemporary’. The panel invites applications from young, energetic, and committed anthropologists, who are pursuing their PhD or are in their early careers.

Critical self-reflection in producing anthropological text is one of the markers of contemporary anthropology. If your work is innovative, challenging, imaginative, experimental or even unconventional you can submit an abstract to present your ideas during the congress. We are looking for new, substantial and theoretically grounded debates as well as works that explore alternative solutions to existing problems leading to new departures.

Please compose your submission in 500 words and send it to critiqueofanthro2023@gmail.com. The application will be evaluated by a jury of experts comprising senior anthropologists appointed by the IUAES EC. At least five best abstracts from diverse geographical world regions will be selected for presentation in the panel. The selected scholars will receive a maximum grant of 800 USD towards travel and lodging along with a waiver of the conference registration fee.
